Background checks are becoming a need in everyday life.

This poses a problem when there are people who are skilled at being someone they are not. There is no way to know if they are being honest or not.  A good way to solve this is to perform a background check.

Here are a few tips for beginning the background check.

  • Begin with a general web search of the person’s name and include their middle name initial if you know it.
  • Use the circuit court system for this next search and use a birth date and birth location to narrow down the information. Some information is available through public records but you will need to be very specific as to what type of information you need.
  • If you know the person’s Social Security number you can try the Social Security Death Index.
  • The national and state sex offender registries is a great resource as well. If you know where the individual has lived, check the registries for those areas.
